From November 17 to 18, 2018, the 7th National University Student Environmental Resources Moot Court Competition was successfully held in Shandong University of Science and Technology. Wuhan University won the runner-up in this competition. Geng Yixuan won the Best Contestant Prize in the competition, and Wu Yu was awarded the Excellent Instructor Prize.

The coaches of WHU team were Wu Yu and Liu Jing, the teachers of the Institute of Environmental Law. Li Huaqi, Wang Chunxiao, and Cao Jingjing were assistant coaches. Tian Xin, Geng Yixuan, Liu Duan, Luo Xiao, Song Yangyi, Xiang Hongyi, Yi Wenyi, Wang Liwei were selected into the representative team.

Sixteen universities, including Wuhan University, Southwest University of Science and Technology, Chongqing University and Zhengzhou University, participated in the competition. The competition was the highest-level Moot Court Competition in the field of environmental law in China. It was based on the real cases. It had strong practical and environmental education significance, aiming to promote the concept of judicial practice of environmental resources, stimulate students' enthusiasm for environmental protection and cultivate students' environment protection.
