The domestic competition of the 2022 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition was successfully held online from March 5 to March 8. The Wuhan University team won the second prize in the competition.

The team was coached by Prof. Gao Shengti, from Wuhan University Institute of International Law, with Zhao Sihan, a 2021 PhD student from the School of Law, and Yu Ziming, a 2020 master's student from the Institute of Boundary and Ocean Studies, as student coaches. The team members include Yang Hening, a 2021 master's student from the Law School, Kang Jing and Liu Qiuyue, 2021 master's students from the Institute of Boundary and Ocean Studies, Wang Zixuan, a 2018 undergraduate student from the Law School, and Hu Chenghao, a 2019 undergraduate student from the Law School. Among them, Yang Hening and Wang Zixuan conducted court arguments as oral presenters.

The problems of this year's Jessup competition are set against the background of a referendum and cover a variety of topics such as admissibility of evidence, disinformation, foreign-financed interference in elections, freedom of expression in cyberspace, and extraterritorial enforcement in cyberspace.

In the preparation for this competition, the team started to select the team members from May last year and carried out the consolidation training of basic knowledge during the summer vacation. The team carried out brief writing from September to December 2021, and trained for oral arguments from January to March 2022. In nearly half a year, the team members conducted a carpet search and reviewed a large number of cases and literature. Under the leadership of the mentors and student coaches, the team members worked together as a team to gain experience skills as well as a deep relationship between teammates.

During the preparation period, Wuhan University Law School, Institute of International Law, China Institute of Boundary and Ocean Studies and Wuhan University Institute for International Studies provided a lot of data and equipment support. Prof. Gao Shengti gave careful guidance to the team members on various problems. Wu Hongyi, Zhang Yujun, Zhu Ziyi, Zhou Zhenyi, Wang Yuan, Song Yingying, and other veteran members gave enthusiastic help.
