From October 27 to 28, 2021,Dean Feng Guo, Vice Dean Wu Yiwen, Prof. Zhang Shanbin, Wang Hao, director of party and administration office, Liu Hui, director of undergraduate office, and Zhang Qiong, director of graduate office, went to Guangdong Dongfang Kunlun Law Office, HYLANDS (Guangzhou) Law Firm, Guangdong Guoding Law Firm, Guangdong Yingzhen Law Firm, Guangdong J&J Law Firm, Guangdong Ming Si Law Firm and Guangdong Bankruptcy Administrators Association to discuss the establishment of legal education practice bases and sign strategic cooperation agreements. A total of six law firms, including Guangdong Jinglun Junhou Law Firm, Guangdong Ming Si Law Firm and Guangdong Bankruptcy Administrators Association, discussed the establishment of a legal education practice base and signed a strategic cooperation agreement, holding a signing ceremony and a plaque ceremony respectively.
In order to implement Xi Jinping's thought on rule of law, promote "strengthening legal practice education, improving the mechanism of collaborative education", achieve the goal of "strengthening the first-class legal discipline, improving the quality of training of legal talents, and creating a large number of high-quality legal talents with both virtues and talents". Our school and six law firms negotiate to build a cooperative model of legal practice education, which mainly includes establishing student internship channels and strengthening legal education training and business exchanges. Through internship, students can directly contact with legal practice work such as handling various cases and drafting legal documents to strengthen legal literacy, through the cooperation, they can promote academic research output while solving business problems, and allow students to gain more practical knowledge in lectures, moot courts and other exchange activities.
In addition, our school and Guangdong Bankruptcy Administrators Association jointly signed a strategic cooperation agreement, which is committed to joining forces to promote the development of bankruptcy legal system research and optimize the business environment of Guangdong Province. The agreement involves cooperation in 10 aspects, such as building countermeasures, innovative research, publishing works, holding forums, and talent cultivation, etc. It not only focuses on the research on bankruptcy legislation and justice, but also focuses on building a high-level bankruptcy administrator team, including strengthening the cultivation of our bankruptcy rule of law talents by inviting experts to give lectures and serve as part-time professors or researchers of the law school, providing our students with rich learning and practice resources.
General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed that "law is a very practical discipline, and legal education should deal with the relationship between knowledge teaching and practical teaching. It is necessary to break the institutional barriers between universities and society, introduce high-quality practical teaching resources from practical work sectors into universities, and strengthen the exchanges between legal education, legal research workers and practical workers in the rule of law." The visit of our college is precisely a positive response to the call of General Secretary, which provides a broad platform for students to apply their learning and achieve employment, promotes the transformation of legal theory accumulation to social legal practice ability, and is an important initiative to innovate and optimize the training mode of legal talents. This contract will promote our law practice education to broaden new horizons and step up to a new level, and will also greatly help students move forward towards becoming high-quality legal talents in the new era.
